feature request remote locking

Hi,

I read a lot of posts about the remote locking feature that is missing,
and what the reason is.

But I do not understand why it is not implemented as follows:
(Subversion after all does support this.)

Why not update the lock icons and the remote lock owner in the browser
when an update or a modification check is performed,

off course it has to be cached then, but why not put an option in the
preferences that enables/disables this feature.

Or even better, why not have an option that on every access to a svn
folder automatically does a modification check, and updates the icons,
status, remote lock owners,...

In that way users that have svn running on a fast intranet environment
can make use of this and have a much better usability.

I think this would be a fine solution, as it seems this is a feature
request that a lot of users are asking for, for a long time now.

Wim
