New strings, doubt if they can be localized properly

Hi Folks,

in the latest .po files there are quite a few new strings in the following
style:

#. Resource IDs: (32779)
msgid "&Go To Line...\t(Ctrl+G)"
msgstr "&Gehe zu Zeile…\t(Strg+G)"

#. Resource IDs: (32773)
msgid "&Open\t(Ctrl+O)"
msgstr "&Öffnen\t(Strg+O)"

#. Resource IDs: (32772)
msgid "&Overlay images\t(O)"
msgstr "Bilder &überlagern\t(O)"

and so on. Does the character (sometimes combined with Ctrl) indicate yet
another hot key for the function? Take the last example. Does this mean we
can activate the function either by <Alt>+<O>, indicated via the ampersand
*and* by typing just <O>? Or is the '(O)' just a repetition of the '&O' and
if so, why?

You see the problem in the localization. The translated '<Alt>+<#>' may be
different from '(#)'

There's also a dubious resource string:

#. Resource IDs: (59393)
msgid "&amp;Status Bar"
msgstr ""

how should this be translated?!? Is this seriously an '&amp;' or should it
just be a simple '&'? :-)
