I logged off and on again yesterday after writing the mail and the icon
wasn't hanging on the screen anymore. I didn't try to add other projects
via drag&drop though.

I just tried 5-6 different https:// URLs from our internal SVN server plus
some from github and some URLs that are no repository URLs at all and the
projects got added. For the moment, the problem is not reproducible.
Yesterday it was my second try...

Upon adding those many projects via drag&drop I have another feature
suggestion:
Assign the "delete" shortcut to the "Delete project button" :)
