So it is clear what I meant with drag&drop folders (from windows explorer)?

You're right. Dragging URLs, e.g. from the browser address bar is probably
not going to work in most cases. That was just an idea without deeper
thought. I tried copy/pasting URLs into the repository browser. It works
with github and the "easy" subversion way of showing repository URLs, but
others would involve too much guesswork depending on the provider.
