OK this was a little bit unclear. I have tested TortoiseSVN 1.8.2.24708 and CollabSVN 1.8.3.1

I know this issue and either it is not really fixed in 1.3.1, or there is another endless loop in serf :(

Nevertheless, the current version cannot connect successfully to our server at all.

Versions of the 1.7 branch have the problem, that they fall back to basic auth, when server answers e.g. with "404 Not found". This is fixed in neon 0.30 and I have found subversion-win32 1.7.13 (built with neon 0.30) that works perfectly :)

"Fast" option would be to generate a new 1.7.13 build with neon 0.30, but unfortunatly I do not have VS2010 available. Is it possible to get an official version with neon 0.30?
