I don't think so. Because if the server has problems with this, it's not
configured correctly or more than ten years old. All other servers won't
have any problems with this.
Heck, even a server with only 128MB RAM can handle this (I tried) if
there are not more than two people accessing it at the same time. But if
there are more people accessing a repo server at the same time, a little
bit more RAM is not too much to ask for.
