TSVNCache, crawling network drives

Hi!

I'm showing overlay icons on some mounted network drives. I just noticed that it looks like TSVNCache is periodically crawling the working copies on the network drive. It does this divided in chunks, approximately every two seconds. When all working copies have been crawled, it starts from the beginning again.

This leads to the overlay icons in explorer flickering every two seconds, as the information is refreshed (even though nothing has changed). And of course, to some extra network traffic.

Is this the intended behavior, or have I stumbled upon a bug? I realize that it is not trivial to keep overlays up to date on a network drive, but polling every two seconds feels like a slightly heavy handed approach. Could it be improved somehow?
