Maybe we should invert the option and change the wording on the option to "Allow crossing lines" and the alt text to "Make the graph more compact by allowing lines to cross revision numbers". It should then be off by default. I think this would make more sense. I have also wondered why the option is there since the current wording makes it seem like it would have a negative impact to disable the option.
