OK. There are a few inconsistencies here.
In the commit dialog you don't get a menu at all if you hold shift and
right click.
In the top pane of the log dialog you get a menu with or without shift
and you have to hold shift while selecting the menu entry.
In the bottom pane of the log dialog you have to hold shift when right
clicking AND when selecting the menu entry.
In the changed files dialog no combination of shifts seems to produce
this dialog.

If you click cancel in the diff options dialog the diff goes ahead
anyway and is not cancelled.

In the changed files dialog there is no progress dialog while fetching
the diff and no hourglass cursor, it just looks like the action has
failed until the diff window opens a few seconds later.
