BugTraq and password

Hi,

I am developing a BugTraq provider for Assembla ( http://www.assembla.com ). In
Assembla, spaces (=projects) may be public or private, which means you need
to authenticate with user and password to check if the space exists and get
the list of tickets.

 I am asking for user and password in an "Options" screen but how can I pass
that information to the rest of the plugin? It seems the "parameters" string
is the only way to do that but then, it will be shown in clear:

Or maybe I am talking nonsense? (I'm quite new to this BugTraq thing)
