TortoiseMerge - My own comparison rules?

Hello,

My idea is to create a program, which would compare two MS Word files, then output the differences in a specified format (for example something like what standart diff on UNIX outputs)
Than I would give this output to the Tortoise, so it could visualize it on the two MS Word files.

Is this possible?
If so, how can I pass these comparison rules to the Tortoise?
And finally: What would the format of these differences be?
