icon overlays not being updated

TortoiseSVN 1.6.8, Build 19260 - 64 Bit , 2010/04/16 20:20:11
Windows 7 64-bit

After changing several files in several directories and then doing a
commit, the icon overlays are still showing the files as changed (red
circle with exclamation point). F5 in one of the directories does not
update the icon overlay.

If I end the TSVNCache.exe process with Windows Task Manager, the icon
overlays then get updated to the correct image.

This is a two hard-disk system, with a dozen or so largish working
copies (mostly boost.org). Four cores with hyper-threading.

Any ideas?
