It shows the new line for me?
What version are you using?
Do you have two example files to reproduce the issue?
What other settings do you have done in TMerge?

It shows a white dot on the left of such lines, even if all whitespaces
are ignored. Does it not for you?

Problem is that switching whitespaces requires reloading the files. The
files may not be available anymore (temp files) or the user might have
edited the file already which requires him to either save them first or
discard the changes.
