The basic feature is already implemented on /trunk.
'Basic feature' means that externals are being
displayed, traversed and cross-externals operations
(e.g. diff) will be unavailable. What is left to do
for some future implementation is insertion, renaming
and deletion of externals directly in the tree or
list view.

Barring unforeseen issues with that functionality,
it will be released with 1.7. Until then, you will
need to install one of the latest nightlies to use
that feature. Due to performance issues with the
current Subversion 1.7 code, the nightlies are still
1.6 compatible.

There will be no backport to TSVN 1.6, though.
