Yes, in those scenarios mentioned, explicit crawling is likely required. But we could get the best of both:-) I suggest adding an option, ExplicitCrawling, where true is default (suggestion for better name is welcome). Just a registry setting at first, maybe a GUI setting later. Since most use TSVN in a "normal" scenario, they could\would get a smother cache if tuning this option.

If this sounds good I can make a patch.
