Just to finish this thread off:

Alan sent me a binary with his patch. It fixed the blame errors I was
seeing. He has posted his patch (with a tweak or two, I think) on the
subversion dev list, but there has been no response.

Do any Tortoise developers on this list have influence on any
subversion developers?
