What about finding another way to indicate current and local revisions,
so that a thicker border could be used for selection instead? Is there
any other color-modifications going on that I'm missing, except for
selection?

I must say that after being away from TSVN a while, I found the revgraph
design quite unintuitive. I think icons would help to directly indicate
the status of the node. Now you have to learn the meaning of the
different shapes.
