Fixed in r15079. A bit "hacky" but safe.

The whole window and update management code
needs some refactoring. My plans for advanced
merge tracking in 1.7 call for dockable windows
and possibly MDI because it will be hard to sequeeze
all information into tooltips.

So, 1.6 simplified the query code and made the
layout much more flexible but the actual UI work
will be in 1.7.
