tortoise says it's current version but gets only older files??

Hello,

I am developing software with tortoise svn and everything was working fine
until last night when some things went very bad. I have windows vista home
and for some reason tortoise was giving me a lot of errors. I deleted my
tree and re updated. Now it seemed I was getting older versions of files
yet tortoise says I'm up to the current revision! I removed tortoise svn,
rebooted, re installed, rebooted, created a new folder and checked it out,
downloaded all the assets again and still the same issue. Old files, but
says I'm up to revision.

I'm thinking this is a legacy / history thing somewhere. Is there some list
on my computer I can blow away and then update and then tortoise will go
through and update only files that i need updated and leave the ones that
are fine?

I really can't sit through another full update.

help!
