It's really sad that this was removed. While adding it to FAQ may be a good
thing to do, IMHO it would be best to modify the diff-ppt.js to produce a more
helpful error message. Perhaps check for the existence of the Merge method and
if it does not exist, then report that this feature was removed in 2007? Or
perhaps test the Office version (similarly to how it is done in diff-doc) and
report the problem based on that?

BTW, can the "convert to a Word outline and compare that way" method be
scripted? If so, then perhaps the diff-ppt.js script could do it when faced with
PowerPoint 2007?
