time for a beta

Hi,

Subversion has tagged their 1.5.0 beta1 release. That means it's time
for us to provide a beta release too.

I'll have some time either friday or saturday. So if you have some
important stuff you want to get done for the beta, please speak up
(especially if you need some more time).
