Can't install 1.4.7.11792 for Win32 on Vista

Hi,
As in the subject, I can do this install as I get an error telling me to
close processes which I can't close as one is the shell!
I did manage to install 1.4.5.10425 when that came out but cannot
upgrade it by installing 1.4.7.11792 on top of it.
Any advice welcome!
