Addendum:
Having completed the dialog (Copy from WC at /trunk, r977 to
/branches/my_branch, switch to new copy), I pressed OK. The new branch
was created OK, but the subsequent switch failed with the message
Error: File not found: revision 977, path '/branches/my_branch'
