User name and password setup

Hi...i'm a new user of SVN.I don't find a better way to set up an user account and password.Eventhough i made changes in conf,password,authentication files i couldn't find runnable way for that.I'm continuously receiving error msgs for password and username creations.Pls fix it up as soon as possible.All my friends are recommending me to shift to Apache but i find SVN more easy to work.Give me a solution for this.
