Not sure what change you mean here? What should IDiff do *exactly* when
switching modes? Keep in mind though that the window sizes in those
modes don't match: the overlap mode has a bigger window, so the image
positions in the view window can't be 'calculated' between the modes -
especially since we're talking about two completely independent view
windows in two-pane mode.

Maybe this will help you a little:
As of revision 10665, you can (in overlap mode, if 'link positions' is
*not* active) drag the second image if you hold down the Ctrl-key. The
first image will hold its position. That way, you can move the second
image 'below' the first image and get both images match each others
positions.

And don't forget that you can 'switch' between the images in overlap
mode by adjusting the alpha value (cursor up, cursor down, cursor right).
