I don't want to make too much of this, but I disagree. I think they should
be high quality. TortoiseSVN is very pretty, and every screenshot should
showcase that. The ones in the documentation may not be the first
screenshots a user sees, however they are lasting and might be seen many
many times (printed doc, app help, online docs, etc.).

Perhaps by high-quality, you meant full-color. Agreed. But they can be
8-bit color without dithering. I am offering to do the work. I've started
re-doing screenshots where an update was needed, and have made sure to make
them 8-bit so as not to double the file size. I plan on doing more. I have
spent (and will spend) a good amount of time making pretty screenshots and
I don't see a reason to make them look any less pretty after they've
already been made.
