Running in Win2K VM

Server is svc 1.4.2 with Apache 2.0.55 on XP

TortoiseProc.exe raises an exception in response to Check for
Modifications on a WC with one changed test file.
Attempted a Cleanup which also failed.
Did a fresh checkout of the particular repo.
Same response.

Installed rev 8716.
Same crash
The instruction at "0x78144eee" referenced memory at "0x00000000: The
memory could not be "read".
The initial CLeanup atempted produced an error message to the effect
that working copy locked. Try running "Cleanup".
