I do not doubt it has always been that way, but it certainly is bad /
misleading behavior. My favorite solution would have been not to commit
files that are not listed in the commit dialog (without a refresh), but
from your explanation I understand that this is not possible. Another
proposal would be that the commit dialog automatically refreshes itself
whenever it looses and regains focus, or if any of the folders below the
folder for which the dialog was called gets modified, whatever is easier
to implement.
