Vista - status cache has stopped working

With regards to the repeated crashing of the TortoiseSVN status cache on
Windows Vista, Jonathan Rogers emailed me the following information.

"I was getting this issue myself and I found a work around that appears
to work for me.

Go into the Tortoise SVN settings page and navigate to the "Icon
Overlays" tab. Set the Status Cache option to "Shell". This will stop
the crashes but it means that you do not get recursive decent in your
working copies so you will not see changes inside folders."
