I think it's good enough as it is:
if you don't ignore the whitespaces, you will see them marked as
different, but you can immediately see from the white dot on the left
that this is a whitespace only diff.

If you however chose to ignore the whitespaces, then it would be a
violation of that setting to show the white dot (after all, you're
telling TMerge to *ignore* whitespace changes).
