I can't reproduce this.
First, there's no question about applying a property recursively. I only
have a checkbox in the properties dialog to do that.
Then, even if I apply the property recursively, it works as expected.

Can you provide more information on how to reproduce this?
For example, what property you wanted to set, where you wanted to set
it, ...
