Feature request: Diff for directories

From: Shai Berger <shai_at_aiseek.com>

Hi All,

I've seen a request in this list, from about 18 months ago, for
directory diff. I was unable to understand from the list what finally
became of that request, so I hope this message is not too much of a
nuisance.

What I am asking for is not really a new feature, but rather a
clarifying of interface: I want an easy way to compare a directory in
the working copy with the repository. The functionality is all there,
but not where I was looking for it: I expected to see a "diff" option in
the tortoise submenu when I right-click a versioned directory, and it
wasn't there. However, I can get exactly what I want by clicking "create
patch": I see a list of the modified files, with an easy way to see the
differences in each.

So, I want the "create patch" functionality to be available as "diff"
from the tortoise submenu when I right-click a versioned directory.
Then, there is a slight other modification: the buttons in the dialog
are "ok/cancel", which makes sense for "create patch", but when the
dialog is opened as "diff", it makes more sense to title them "save as
patch/close".

I think this would be more intuitive, as it is more in line with the
command-line svn.

Thanks in advance,

    Shai.
