I have very little experience with any kind of GUI programming, and
absolutely zero experience with MFC, ATL or raw Win32 UI, and wouldn't
be very effective in most of this work. I would guesstimate most of
the above, except maybe for the panning, should be less than an
evening of work for someone well familiar with the source - which,
again, I am not.

If the back-end for image comparison visualization is in place, I
could contribute some modes there. But that's easy work, so I
shouldn't brag about it :-)
