How do you accomplish this mount of WebDAV to a Windows drive letter?
I've only made it work with 3rd party software, and none of that was
particularly good.

I hope it's not the 'web folders' feature in XP you're talking about,
because that just works like crap with SVN. That's because of a)
authentication problems, and b) because Windows doesn't regard "web
folders" as a standard filesystem, leading to loads of things that
doesn't work.
