Let's use some serious math here :)

2163422 downloads since 2006-05-17 (the first binary we put on
sourceforge). That's 465 days until now.
We had in that time 14 'real' releases (not counting the x64 package and
the RC releases, because those only make a really small amount of
downloads).

2163422 / 14 = 154530 downloads per release
2163422 / 14 / 465 = 332 downloads per day

If we consider that a lot of downloads also lead to multiple
installations (i.e. inside a company) we can assume that the number of
downloads more than relates to the actual installations.

You can also check the statistics for the 1.3.5 version here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/stats/detail.php?type=prdownload&group_id=138498&ugn=tortoisesvn&package_id=151948&release_id=425024&file_id=974703
In total, there were 61262 downloads for that release only.

Stefan
