First, a big thank you to the developers of Tortoise SVN, which is an
excellent piece of software. And sorry if this is the wrong place to
send feature requests.
- An option to remember passwords would be really good. I know you can
set up putty and tortoise so that you don't get asked for password.
However this is not a straightforward process. I found it off-putting,
and I'm quite a geek. For less techie users it must be extremely
off-putting. It would be simpler and better if Tortoise SVN had an
option to remember passwords.
- I'm having problems with folders containing output files. Typically
my projects have a project/bin folder which contains outut files I don't
want in the repository. I submit the parent folder, but un-check the box
for this sub-folder. Nevertheless .svn folders are added to the /bin
sub-directory. The whole project then has a 'not-up-to-date' exclamation
mark, which commit fails to get rid of. Deleting the .svn folders from
the project/bin sub-folder solves the problem.
Not sure if that's a bug or a mis-understanding on my part.
- On a related note, a menu item to remove svn from a folder (ie.
delete all the .svn sub-folders) would be nice. It's easy enough to do -
but I think a menu option would still be nice.
Yours,
- Daniel
