Just a thought: What about a Ctrl-F5 option that only re-fetches the
status of the files selected in the commit-list? This would provide the
(much needed?) speedup for Jared while keeping it obscure enough not to
confuse users who doesn't need it.

(Still not positive that it's worth the time implementing it, but as a
general idea: Good or bad?)
