It's notoriously difficult to figure out how to make a living off an
open source project..
Perhaps you could make the manual unavailable offline, and throw up
some banners on the online version. I don't know how the market is
right now, but I suppose that Subversion hosting companies would for
example be interested in being exposed to Subversion users looking in
the TSVN manual. Of course, I don't know whose work the manual is,
perhaps it's mostly Simon's ? :-)...
Another option could be to sell professional support for TSVN. Keep a
lower profile on the dev list, you could relax a bit and let issues
sit for just a week or two or a month before fixing them if they come
from us non-paying users. You really provide excellent support here,
and I don't see any reason why that shouldn't be a privilege for
paying users. You could offer guaranteed response times or even
guaranteed fixes for trivial problems within some timeframe in
exchange for a monthly support fee.
