Well, maybe not donate, but paying for a service like for example:
- Having a logo/link on a monetary contributors page
- Being prioritized regarding improvement enquiries/bugfixes/extra
releases
- ...

Of course one could argue that there are some potential problems with a
model like this in an open source project, but I don't think it would be
impossible. (Then if one desires to do so is another matter entirely.)
