Well, perhaps 'each build' was an exaggeration, but actually build
number is not the
main problem. Things like compiler options, $defines, exception
logging options (we use EurekaLog), search paths etc. are also often
changed by developer without the intention to commit them.
Moreover, .dof files were only one example, this problem is typically
encountered in systems with complex yet non-overridable configuration
files.
