We could meet somewhere in between. I wouldn't go through all the
release_procedure stuff either, but
I would tag that magic revision number as RC-x, name the files RC-x, place
them in a folder named RC-x and go shout everywhere that RC-x is available,
just to make sure that people wake up and test it.
