Probably there's just no interest in this feature. Requesting a complex feature for very little gain (or in a specialized area) is often futile as development resources are scarce.
 
A better approach would be to first ask on the users-list if there is any way to accomplish more or less what you want with the existing functionality. (Do not know if you tried it already, but it should generate some interesting answers like Svens recent post.)
 
Then there's of course the possibility for you to write a fully working patch and post it to the list. That is always appreciated! If it's good then it will be accepted, otherwise you (and others in need) have the function source and can build a specialized TSVN-version for your needs. This is Open Source after all!
 
If all that fails, then you can always post a feature request, but don't be too surprised if it's turned down...
 
And in addition: If you are not subscribed to the list you might want to add that fact to the bottom of the mail, this increases the chances of people answering you emails adding your address as a CC.
