I like the idea.
Would be useful in Windows explorer too, too bad we can't do that.

If you're looking for coding inspiration, the unix 'sort' command can
do this when supplied with the -n option.

Source code is in GNU CVS under 'coreutils' (GPL), and there's an
unrelated LGPL implementation as I understand it in busybox
(svn.busybox.net) in the 'coreutils' folder.
