RE: Receiving "cannot non-recursively commit a directory deletion " lately

From: Lübbe Onken <l.onken_at_rac.de>

Hi Folks,

I just translated the corresponding message, but I'm afraid that people who
do not "understand cannot non-recursively commit a directory deletion" won't
understand the new message either, because they do not know what a recursive
commit is.

"To commit recursively, make sure all versioned entries shown in the commit
dialog are checked.\n
If entries are not checked, TortoiseSVN must do a non-recursive commit."

How can we explain better that it's still a single commit, but that "under
the hood" it is handled differently, when objects are deselected?

How about adding "Some actions can only committed recursively." to the above
phrase to indicate the reason why the commit fails?

We could also add "recursive commit" to the glossary. It is explained nicely
in Appendix E.2.4 of our docs, but it's not mentioned anywhere near Chapter
5.4 "Committing", which is wher F1 takes the user from the commit dialog.

Cheers
- Lübbe
