Create the registry key
HKCU\Software\TortoiseSVN\CacheTrayIcon
as a DWORD value and set it to 1.

Then either reboot or kill the cache so it restarts again. When it
starts again, it will add an icon to the task tray. If you doubleclick
on that icon, you will see a window with some activity of the cache.
