Sure, the pot file is *never* merged to the 1.3.x branch, because on
that branch, resource changes are not allowed.
So if you want to merge spelling fixes, you can just merge them (the
pot file doesn't change).

Code changes don't affect the pot file, only resource changes. And
resource changes aren't allowed on that branch. After all, it's the
*stable* branch, which means *only* bugfixes, no new stuff.
