I'm currently working on the cache. Peter McNab is bugging me every day
with lots of things that he thinks the cache should do better ;)
So that memory "leak" should be much better now.

As a workaround, just kill the cache process after a few days. It will
be restarted automatically. By killing it, you prevent it from writing
the data to disk and reload it after restarting, so you get a really
fresh cache.
