That's a good idea!
Changed in revision 4949.

Added the tooltip in revision 4950, but without having it show the most
recent message. That's just not a good idea if you think that some log
messages can get *really* big (or else the previous limitation of
4096bytes which the history had for each log message wouldn't have been
reported).

We could try to show that only once, then never again. I.e. setting a
registry flag to '1' and only show a balloon if that flag isn't set and
the last commit failed. I'll see what I can do...
