It was the using old log api that caused it. FWIW, changing that
setting isn't a solution if your running against a 1.1.x server. You
don't want all log messages if there are a lot (someone mentioned the
apache server) but if there is ever a gap of more than the fetch size,
then you'll never get anymore.

Probably not an issue as hopefully most if not all people will or soon
will be running against 1.2.x servers or later.
