In the process of trying to set up Apache as my Subversion server (which I
have now successfully done), I installed and uninstalled TortoiseSVN a
couple of times, possibly even up- or down-grading it and Subversion in the
process. One of the side effects is that the file overlay icons that were
present originally have disappeared. Further reinstallation, rebooting,
and selecting various different overlay options (classic, modern, XP etc.),
making sure that Fixed Drives were selected, etc., have not solved the problem.
Originally, I thought that switching from accessing the repository as
file:/// to accessing it as http:// might be to blame, but no, that turns
out to be false. After reading whatever I could find online, I increased
the IconCache to 2048 and downloaded TweakUI and used it to refresh
icons. All to no avail.
I now suspect that there is some crud in the windows registry that is
causing the problem -- you know, one of those mysterious
{30351346-7B7D-...} entries.
I'm running Windows 2000 Professional with all updates and TortoiseSVN
1.2.4, Build 4479 - 32 Bit and Subversion 1.2.3 (up from 1.2.1).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
- Richard
